Miguel Ferrer Turns 60
Today is the sixtieth birthday of The Spectacular Spider-Man actor Miguel Ferrer. Marvel fans will recognize Ferrer as the voice of Silvermane and the treacherous Vice-President of Iron Man 3 while others will probably remember for his roles in RoboCop, Twin Peaks, Mulan, Young Justice, and NCIS: Los Angeles.
75 Years of Pinocchio
Today is the seventy-fifth anniversary of the release of Pinocchio. The second animated feature from Walt Disney Animation Studios, the film was initially was a box office disaster. However, following its release it became one of the most well-known products from the studio and the Oscar winning song "When You Wish Upon a Star" has become the iconic theme song for The Walt Disney Company.
The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water Released
Today is the release of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. The second film in the popular franchise features the talents of Tom Kenny as SpongeBob SquarePants, Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick, Clancy Brown as Mr. Krabs, Eric Bauza as a seagull, Rob Paulsen as a seagull, Kevin Michael Richardson as a seagull, Cree Summer as a seagull, Billy West as a seagull, Nolan North as a dead parrot, Dee Bradley Baker as Sandal, Thomas F. Wilson as an angry customer, and Lori Alan as Pearl.
Seventh Son Released
Today is the release of Seventh Son. The film features the talents of Black Panther actor Djimon Hounsou as Radu.
62 Years of Peter Pan
Today is the sixty-second anniversary of Peter Pan. The fourteenth film from Walt Disney Animation Studios, it was the last to feature the entirety of the famous Nine Old Men animators. While at the time the film was controversial due to its changes from the original play as well as the portrayal of Native Americans, it was nevertheless the most successful film of 1953 and become one of the most fondly remembered Disney classics.
Watch Big Hero 6 Digitally
Big Hero 6 is now available to purchase for download on Digital HD and Disney Anywhere. The Blu-ray and DVD will be available February 24th.

Big Hero 6 on Digital HD Tomorrow
Tomorrow, the film Big Hero 6 will be available to download on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere. The film was a big hit in theaters, earning $208.5 million at the box office becoming Walt Disney Animation Studios' second highest grossing film and the tenth highest in the last year.
In honor of it's release, MTV has a music video titled "Beatmax" while io9 has a video revealing several Easter eggs in the film.
The Blu-ray and DVD physical copies will be available February 24th.

Today is the sixty-sixth birthday of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. actor Brent Spiner.
January 2015 Poll Results
Another month has ended and the poll results are in. this week we asked what animated-based event from 2014 was your favorite.
- The winner by an overwhelming margin of 64.3% was the release of Big Hero 6. Marvel's first theatrical animated movie is one of the biggest financial hits of the year, garnered great critical reviews, and has been winning numerous awards.
- Second place with 14.3% was the beginning of the third season of Ultimate Spider-Man. Titled Web Warriors, the series has featured Spider-Man traveling across the multiverse and even encountering Spider-Men from the comics.
- Tying for third place was the release of Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher, the second season of Avengers Assemble, and the characters of X-Men joining the …
