Doctor Doom is the ruler of Latveria.

Once, Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. sent Spider-Man, Power Man, Iron Fist, Nova, and White Tiger to prove themselves by fighting Doom.

Doom realized Fury's plan, and put a Doombot in his place. It was captured and taken aboard the Helicarrier. It was to destroy the Helicarrier, but the teenaged superheroes stopped it before it could fulfill its mission.

While the Doombot was battling them, it was sending information back to the real Doom. With its mission complete, Doom contacted them to warn them against invading his country again.

He later made a deal with Beetle. Whether he knew it or not, S.H.I.E.L.D. had recorded the exchange.

When Captain America's shield fell off the Helicarrier, Doom got ahold of the weapon when it came through his embassy's window. Spider-Man appeared claiming it was a replica, but Doom did not believe him.

Captain America and Spider-Man infiltrated the embassy, fearing that Doom would reverse-engineer the shield. They learned that Doom was staging an invasion from the embassy. He was studying the shield while fleeing in his jet. The two heroes hijacked the plane, crashing it into the park. He is then taken into S.H.I.E.L.D. custody after Spider-Man distracted him.

However, he told him that the Embassy Officials would have him out by sundown. He was then deported to Latveria.
