The Avengers stop Grim Reaper from stealing gold, and capture his henchmen, but the villain escapes. The Avengers reminisce how unbelievable is that Grim Reaper is Wonder Man's brother, which brings them back to the fact that Simon has not recovered from his coma. Scarlet Witch concludes they must try with sorcery, but not hers, Agatha Harkness'.

Wanda and Vision go to Agatha's house, but after their arrival Agatha is captured by her son Nicholas Scratch and the Salem Seven. Wanda asks the Avengers' help to rescue Agatha, but they are busy pursuing Grim Reaper. Vision, however, agrees to help Wanda.

Vision, Wanda and Agatha's cat Ebony go to New Salem and face the Salem Seven, but are defeated, with Vakume draining Vision's power. Scratch puts Agatha on trial for teaching a mutant instead of her own son. The Salem Seven declare her guilty.

Scratch takes Agatha, Ebony, Vision and Wanda to be burned, but Vision finds the resolve to reactivate himself and frees the others. Agatha gives her own magic to Wanda to enhance her powers, and Wanda uses her enhanced powers to lock Scratch and the Salem Seven inside a mountain. After this, Agatha says goodbye to Wanda and disappears.

With her enhanced power, Wanda finally manages to wake Simon up. Grim Reaper observes from a distance and swears revenge on the Avengers for taking both his money and his brother from him.
