Hosato Takei (born April 20, 1937), known professionally as George Takei, is an actor who plays Wong on Spider-Man, Galactus on The Super Hero Squad Show, Elder Monk on Ultimate Spider-Man, and Shinji on Hit Monkey.

Biography[]

Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, the Takei family was sent into a Japanese internment camp when he was just five years old. He had family that perished in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. After his family's release, they were left without any money and forced to live in the Skid Row section of Los Angeles. He turned his experiences into the Broadway show Allegiance and the television series The Terror.

During the 1960s, Takei marched with Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr., the civil rights leader who served as the basis for Professor X.[1]

Takei is most famous for his role as Hikaru Sulu in the Star Trek franchise. He was a main cast member in the original, animated series, the first six films, and a cameo appearance on Voyager.
