Mary Jane Watson, often shortened to just MJ, is a 19 years old student at Empire State University as well as a model and actress. She is the on-again off-again girlfriend to Peter Parker.
Biography[]
Little is known about the early life of MJ.
Mary Jane wanted to date Peter Parker but was infatuated with the superhero Spider-Man. At some point, she and the superhero shared a kiss.
Though they liked each other, Peter kept pushing MJ away for unknown reasons. She was also friends with Harry Osborn. After the death of Norman Osborn, Mary Jane began pursuing Peter more aggressively. She was good friends with Sally Johnson, the two would share notes and study together, and only casual acquaintances with Max Dillon.
Things became complicated when Peter began dating Indira Daimonji.
She kept getting captured and attacked by supervillains such as Turbo Jet and the Gaines Twins. The Twins used their psychic abilities to get Spider-Man to attack Indy putting her in the hospital. Despite her feelings, she then felt that Spider-Man was a threat.

The series was designed to follow the first Spider-Man film, where she was played by Kirsten Dunst. Mary Jane often refers to a kiss with Spider-Man, referring to the film's famous shot of Spider-Man kissing her upside down in the rain after saving her.
Animation limitations meant that Mary Jane's hair was shorter than usual. That's because the longer hair would pass through her body. This was the same reason Kraven the Hunter does not have his usual lion's mane vest.
