Michael Korvac is a human being who was experimented on by the Kree becoming a being of seemingly unlimited power.

Biography[]

Little is known about the early life of Michael. At some point he met and fell in love with a woman named Corrina.

He was abducted by the Kree and taken to a distant planet where they experimented on him. They unlocked a gene hidden in his DNA. They unlocked incredible power. He destroyed the ship transporting him and escaped. He made his way to a space station but destroyed it and the nearby planet. A Rigellion recorder spotted him in the debris field laughing. It was then the Guardians of the Galaxy began hunting him down to eliminate the threat he posed.

He made his way back to Earth hoping to find Corrina. He was taken to the Avengers who studied him and found Corrina. Just as he was reunited with her, the Guardians appeared. The Guardians and Avengers began fighting over Korvac. The Guardians were able to convince the Avengers to help them and they began attacking Korvac. He knocked them all out but Ms. Marvel attacked him. He recognized Kree technology in her and captured her. He took her to Central Park but both hero teams appeared to attack him. He claimed he wanted to stop the monsters, but Corrina said he was the only monster there. Realizing what he had become, he teleported to a distant part of the universe where neither team could follow.

Background[]

Korvac was voiced by Troy Baker.

The first version of the character outside the comics.

The series changed the race that experimented on him from the Badoon to the Kree. This is likely because the Badoon were not introduced in the series, while in the comics the Kree have been known to experiment on humans. Korvac is said to have had a hidden gene activated, much like the Kree-created Inhumans.

The fact that he had a hidden gene in his DNA that gave him powers could have been a set up for the eventual inclusion of the Inhumans into The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. It may also have been that he is actually a mutant.

In the Comics[]

Korvac was a computer technician in a possible future. In the year 3007 the Badoon conquered the Sol system so he became a traitor to humanity and collaborator to the invading aliens. They eventually found him sleeping at his post and punished him by making him a cyborg.

He eventually comes to the prime universe where he scans Galactus and imitates his powers, essentially become god-like.

He comes to Earth hoping to change it into a utopia. He was followed by the original time-traveling Guardians of the Galaxy who teamed up with the Avengers to stop him.

Carina, spelled Corrina in the series, is the daughter of the one who brought Korvac to the past and was remade as a weapon against him. However, they met when he came to Earth and fell in love as she sympathizes with him. The two try to live a normal life but are discovered by the Guardians, Avengers, and Ms. Marvel. Korvac begins fighting when he realizes powerful beings such as Odin are now aware of him.

During the battle he kills many of the heroes. He was weakened by Captain America, Wonder Man, Iron Man, Vision, and Thor. He seemingly commits suicide, restoring the fallen heroes to life. Carina attacks the heroes but is killed by Thor.

Korvac's power and consciousness lived on moving through various ancestors of his until he inhabited his own father. He was killed by the Guardians and his mother/wife vowed to teach Michael that the Guardians killed his father.

He was eventually resurrected. He tried to use Captain America to steal the Cosmic Cube from Red Skull. Red Skull used the Cube to scatter Korvac across multiple dimensions.

Carina was eventually resurrected by someone trying to resurrect Wasp causing Korvac to return. Hank Pym offered to let Carina go with him but she refused. During the battle with all versions of the Avengers, Korvac was destroyed in a blast of antimatter.
