Gracie Allen was an American comedian. She was well known for a comedy act with her husband. They would often end their comedy act with him saying "Say good night, Gracie." to which she would respond "Good night, Gracie."
Ben Grimm would watch the show. After his transformation to the Thing and creation of the Fantastic Four, Thing quoted her husband's line to a robot controlled by the Puppet Master.
The Fantastic Four recounted this story to Dick Clark and Gary Owens on the Dick Clark's Scholarship Telethon.
