At some point, Danny got the ability to channel "chi" energy into attacks. He is also a master of martial arts.

He runs the Rand Corporation, a company that rivals Oscorp Industries.

He is good friends with Luke Cage, also known as Power Man. He was recruited into a S.H.I.E.L.D. program where he teamed up with Power Man, White Tiger, Nova, and Spider-Man.

Iron fist, unlike the others, realizes the most of his responsibilities and how Sheild training is very important. This relates to his calm and wise Zen-like attitude.

At a party for Harry Osborn, the symbiote bonded with Iron Fist to form an early version of Venom. It then bonded with Spider-Man and attacked him and the other heroes before Spider-Man apparently destroyed it.

Iron fist is also connected to magic. One time, a super villain, the Nightmare, puts everyone into a deep sleep where they will experience there worst fears in the form of a nightmare. Iron Fist escapes and is able to save Spider-Man before he falls to deeply in the spell. They then visit the Sorcerer Supreme, or Dr. Strange, to team up with him to go fight Nightmare. Iron Fist helps Spider-Man get used to the fact of magic is real. While in the Dream Land, Iron Fist reveals how he got his powers, and that his biggest fear is that he was not meant to get his powers. Spider-Man helps him overcome that fear.
