Biography

Early Life

Little is known about the early life of Jameson.

At some point, he became the editor-in-chief of the newspaper The Daily Bugle.

When Spider-Man first appeared in public, he began branding the hero a menace through editorial attacks for years.

Skrull Invasion

When the Skrulls' invasion of Earth was stopped, Jameson began smearing Captain America because a Skrull impostor tried to convince the world to stand down.

Captain America's teammate Tony Stark came to the Bugle to get him to change his stance. Jameson refused and the two began arguing. Jameson argued that real heroes should be professionals and not costumed vigilantes.

He then put Peter Parker and Betty Brant together on a story.

Later, Captain America was seen to be a hero again though he still smeared Spider-Man.

Personality

J. Jonah Jameson bears a grudge against superpowered vigilantes in general, and Spider-Man in particular. He feels that they are given the adoration more due what he describes as real heroes such as police, firemen, paramedics, and news reporters.

Background

Jameson was voiced by J. K. Simmons. He reprised the role from the Spider-Man film series and Ultimate Spider-Man.
