Joseph Henry "Joe" Simon (October 11, 1913) was born Hymie Simon. Along with Jack Kirby, he created one of the longest lasting superheroes of all time with Captain America back in 1940 and began publishing the character in 1941.


He died at the age of ninety-eight from natural causes in his home in New York City on December 14, 2011 surrounded by family. [1]
