- Lizard is a villain from the Non MAU series The Spectacular Spider-Man.
The Lizard is an alternate form and personality of Dr. Curt Connors. He was created when Connors wanted to regrow his missing arm using a lizard-based formula.
Biography[]
Curtis Connors lost his arm while working as a surgeon in the United States Army. He became so desperate on regrowing his arm, that he tested his reptile potion on himself. He later found work as a biologist at Empire State University, studying reptiles and cell regeneration.
Connors' experiments with lizard DNA proved more than he could handle. The serum regrew his arm but also turned him into a giant green lizard-like creature. Spider-Man, Eddie Brock, Gwen Stacy, and Connors' wife Martha Connors developed a formula that would turn him back. It worked, though Spider-Man took a picture of himself fighting Lizard. They decided to keep his transformation a secret.
Peter Parker then sold that picture to The Daily Bugle. However, Martha felt she could not trust that Peter wouldn't reveal the secret if he would sell photos and ended his internship.
Eventually a friend worker of his, Miles Warren, found out about his Lizard form, and became obsessed with re-creating it but was denied and cut short of doing so being Curt himself. Eventually Connors, found out about his research on sub-dermal armors and Curt was determined to remove him from ESU, but actually Miles did the same with the Lizard formula and blackmailed Curt. This act forced Curt and his family to leave ESU, and New York City.
Background[]
Lizard and Connors were voiced by Dee Bradley Baker. Baker previously voiced the character in the 2000 Spider-Man video game and reprised the role in Ultimate Spider-Man.
