Namor, also known as the Sub-Mariner, is the Prince of Atlantis.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Leonard McKenzie was the captain of an ice breaker ship. Leonard gave orders to his men to use explosives to break up an iceberg. However, unknown to Leonard, the explosion caused earthquakes in Atlantis. King Thakorr of Atlantis sent his daughter, Fen, to investigate. However, when Fen got out of the water and onto the ship she was unable to breath. Leonard gave Fen medical attention and over time they fell in love. Leonard and Fen eventually got married.
Several weeks later, King Thakorr grew worried for Fen and believed that she had been captured by the humans. Thakorr then sent his soldiers onto the ice breaker ship to rescue her. A fight broke out between the Atlantean soldiers and the human sailors and McKenzie was shot and killed. Fen returned to Atlantis where she gave birth to her and Leonard's son whom she named Namor. However, shortly after giving birth, Fen died of a broken heart.
Past revealed[]
Namor once lost all memory of who he was and wandered onto the surface world. When the police learned that Namor was in the city them began to hunt him down because of his past attacks on the surface. Namor was later captured by the police and placed in jail. However, two men bailed Namor out and brought him to their employer, Ms. B. Ms. B told Namor the story of his parents tragic love and revealed that she was his grandmother from his father's side of the family. Ms. B asked Namor to stay with her. However, Namor, with his memory restored, replied that he had to return to Atlantis to watch over his people and because he loved an Atlantean woman named Lady Dorma. Ms. B then helped Namor avoid the police so he could return to the ocean.
Ruler of Atlantis[]
While Namor was away from Atlantis, Krang was able to seize the throne of Atlantis. When Namor returned to Atlantis he was captured by palace guards an put in the dungeon. Namor also learned that Krang planned to lead an invasion on the surface world. However, Namor was able to escape and began a quest for the Trident of Neptune. Namor knew of the legends which said that only the one true king of Atlantis could wield the Trident of Neptune. During the quest, Namor fought a giant squid, the Seaweed Man and the Demon of the Diamonds. After Namor found the trident, he returned to Atlantis. Namor then confronted Krang and defeated him.
Later, Attuma kidnapped Vashti and framed him for stealing the Trident of Neptune. When Namor left to find Vashti, Attuma attacked Atlantis and took control of the kingdom. However, after Namor rescued Vashti, he returned to Atlantis and defeated Attuma.
Betrayed[]
Namor's cousin, Byrrah, created a machine that could place people under his mental control. Byrrah served Namor by creating weapons for the Atlantean military. However, Byrrah had ambitions to rule Atlantis. Byrrah allied himself with Krang and Attuma. Byrrah also placed everyone in Atlantis under his control and had them turn against Namor. Byrrah then became the new ruler of Atlantis. However, Lady Dorma destroyed Byrrah's machine and rescued Namor. Namor then defeated Byrrah, Attuma and Krang.
