Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane is an institution for those too dangerous to live among normal society.
History
After Eddie Brock was arrested for infiltrating a government facility, he claimed he was actually Venom and had bonded with an alien symbiote. He was sent to Ravencroft for treatment. His primary doctor was Ashley Kafka, who help convince him it was a fantasy. Over time, Eddie came to love Ashley.
One day, famed criminal Cletus Kasady was admitted into the hospital, occupying a room next to Eddie. He teased Ashley causing Eddie to become protective.
That same day, Baron Mordo appeared offering Eddie a deal, help to release Dormammu and get to keep the symbiote to destroy Spider-Man. Cletus tried to convince Mordo to give him the symbiote, but Eddie agreed. Later, a woman came into the Institute looking for Eddie. She entered his cell and revealed that her jacket was actually the symbiote then collapsed once its control left her. Eddie and the symbiote became Venom once more and escaped.
Later, a man came to the Institute looking for Cletus. He entered his cell and a second symbiote left him, leaving the man unconscious. Mordo appeared once more and offered Cletus the new symbiote. He agreed and formed Carnage.
Some time later, Harry Osborn was admitted claiming to be the Green Goblin. Ashley tended to him. However, he heard that his friend Peter Parker and former fiance Mary Jane Watson were getting married, he broke out.
