Robert Farrell, also known as Rocket Racer, is a poor inner-city boy who briefly became a criminal.

Biography[]

Robert grew up in a crime-ridden neighborhood. He was gifted in engineering, but had to help his sick mother. It is unknown what happened to his father.

He went to a science center where his teachers were Peter Parker and Felicia Hardy.

One day, Robert came across Big Wheel. He snuck into their hideout and stole various technology from them. He built himself a rocket-powered hovering skateboard. He used it to steal some jewels but was caught by Spider-Man. He escaped from the superhero and returned home.

Big Wheel found out about Robert's theft and pursued him. Rocket Racer and Spider-Man teamed up and stopped the giant device using Robert's engineering mind.

Afterwards, he realized that he needed to use his mind to solve his problems, not crime.

He then helped Spider-Man stop some thugs who wanted protection money from a local business.

Background[]

Rocket Racer was voiced by Billy Atmore.

This is the first, and currently only, version of the character outside the comics.

In the Comics[]

Robert is the oldest of seven children. His mother's name is Emma Johnson.

He turned to a life of crime to help take care of his family. His mother did not suffer from any expensive medical condition.

He developed the Rocket Racer gear on his own.

Jackson Weele hired him to steal incriminating evidence. Robert then used the evidence to blackmail Weele. Weele tried to commit suicide but Robert stopped him though he makes fun of him. It was then that Weele hired someone to build Big Wheel. He chased Robert around the city until Spider-Man tried to stop him. Weele apparently fell to his death in the Hudson River.

He was hunted by a bounty hunter but Spider-Man saved him.

He fought Spider-Man numerous times and even spent time in jail. He then tried to turn his life around. He then tried to reform. He passed a high school equivalency course and got a scholarship to Empire State University. His early school days were difficult for him as he had to control his anger while confronting a hate-group.

Silver Sable hired him to stop two kids from stealing guns.

He teamed up with Spider-Man, Prowler, and others to fight the mind-controlled Avengers.
