Spider-Man is the alternate universe counterpart to Peter Parker.

Through means unknown, this Spider-Man got his spider powers during a war between mutants and humans as there was never anyone who led the mutants in peace.

He was part of the Avengers led by Captain America and consisting of Iron Man, Giant Man, Wasp, Black Widow, and Hercules. Together, they battled the X-Men led by Magneto.

During the battle, two more time travellers, Bishop and Shard, appeared on the battlefield. They took Wolverine and Storm with them as they jumped to another time.

Background

Spider-Man's appearance was merely a cameo with no speaking part.

His costume is based on the one used in the comics by Peter Parker's clone, Ben Reilly, as the Scarlet Spider.

In the Comics

Peter Parker was killed for being close to human rebel Gwen Stacy. It was never revealed if he had ever gained powers.

In a What If version, Apocalypse uses an army of Spider-Man clones that are more symbiote than man.
