Biography

Centuries ago Thor fought his half-brother, Loki and imprisoned him in an enchanted tree on Asgard.

In the present, Thor came to Earth to protect mankind. While living among humans, Thor took the identity of Donald Blake and worked as a doctor in New York City. Thor was also a founding member of the Avengers.

Loki was eventually freed from his prison and came to Earth and placed Thor under his mental control. However, when Thor placed his hammer on the ground it caused him to turn back into Donald Blake which broke Loki's hold over him. After transforming back into Thor, he returned Loki to Asgard.

Loki later sent Surtur and Skagg to Earth to destroy it. However, Thor joined forces with Odin and Balder to defeat them.

When Thor learned that Jane Foster loved Donald Blake, he went to Asgard and asked Odin for permission to marry her. Odin did not like that his son was in love with a mortal and gave him a choice, return to Asgard forever or lose his power. Thor returned to Earth and was stripped of his power. However, when the Grey Gargoyle tried to kill Dr. Blake, Balder went to Earth and returned Thor's power to Donald Blake.

Later, Mister Hyde took the appearance of Thor and committed various robberies around New York City framing the God of Thunder. However, Thor was able to clear his name.

Jane ended up getting angry at Donald Blake because he always abandoned her. Because of this Blake revealed to Jane that he was really Thor. Odin got angry when he learned that Thor had revealed his identity to a mortal and had Thor go through the Ritual of Steel in which he had to face Balder in combat. Odin also decreed that if Thor survived the Ritual of Steel he would never be allowed to step foot on Earth again. However, Thor fled before he could be defeated.

Thor was featured in the Marvel Mash-Up shorts that aired on Disney XD.
