Today is the twentieth anniversary of the premiere of Oz. The series follows the inmates and guards of a maximum security prison as they enact an experiment rehabilitation program. Offering an intense and often difficult viewing experience to watch, the six season series received generally positive reviews and was well received by fans. The series features the talents of Harold Perrineau as main character and wheelchair bound narrator Augustus Hill, J. K. Simmons as Aryan leader Vernon Schillinger, Luke Perry as evangelical preacher Jeremiah Cloutier, Bill Fagerbakke as Neo-Nazi officer Karl Metzger, and Brian Bloom as homosexual prisoner Ronald Barlog.
