Today is the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic The Little Mermaid. The film was the first in what is known as the Disney Renaissance, when the company had a creative resurgence in their animation department as well as restored public and critical interest in the company. The beloved movie won two Academy Awards. It features the voices of Christopher Daniel Barnes in his first film role as Prince Eric, the love interest of the title mermaid. The film also features the talents of Frank Welker as Eric's dog Max as well as Ed Gilbert, Charles Adler, Jack Angel, Jim Cummings, and Mark Hamill doing additional voices.
