25 Years of The Simpsons

Today is the twenty-fifth anniversary of the pilot episode premiere of The Simpsons. The legendary series is a pioneer in the field of television animation, proving that the genre could be more than mere children entertainment and has lasted twenty-six seasons, five-hundred sixty-one episodes, and even a theatrical film and is still going making it one of the longest running television series ever. Bob Arkwright served as a storyboard artist on the series while AKOM originally did animation for the series. It featured the voice talents of Hank Azaria as many roles such as bartender Moe Syszlak, Maurice LaMarche as various voices, Frank Welker as the family pet Santa's Little Helper, Kevin Michael Richardson doing various voices, George Takei as Akira, Stan Lee as himself, Adam West as himself, Edward Asner as a newspaper editor, J. K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, Paul Winfield as Lucious Sweet, Robert Englund as Freddy Kruger, Mark Hamill as himself, Diedrich Bader doing additional voices, Nichelle Nichols as herself, Harlan Ellison as himself, Martin Landau as The Great Raymondo, Joe Perry as himself, Luke Perry as himself, Jim Cummings as Dunkin, Gregg Berger doing additional voices, Phil LaMarr as his Futurama character Hermes Conrad, Neil Patrick Harris as himself, Billy West as his Futurama character Fry, Steven Weber as Neil, Dick Clark as himself, Kathy Griffin as Francine, Jane Lynch as Roz, Brent Spiner as robots, Chris Edgerly doing various voices, and Maya Rudolph as Julia.
