Today is the thirtieth anniversary of the premiere of An American Tail. It is the second animated film by legendary animator Don Bluth. The film follows the adventures of Fievel Mousekewitz as he and his family immigrate from Russia, but when he becomes separated from them he must reunite with them. It was a hit at the box office becoming the highest grossing non-Disney animated film at the time, eventually leading to the creation of what is known today as DreamWorks Animation. It was followed by one more theatrically released film, two direct-to-video features, and an animated series. The film features the voice talents of Neil Ross as mouse politician Honest John.
