This month marks the thirty-fifth anniversary of the debut of the singer, mutant, X-Woman, and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Dazzler. Alison Blaire first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #130 as a disco singer who met Cyclops during The Dark Phoenix saga. She has since evolved into various types of musical styles and looks as well as joining various teams becoming one of the most popular characters in the comics.

So far, Dazzler has appeared three times in animation. The first was in the test pilot "Pryde of the X-Men" voiced by Alexandra Stoddart. This Dazzler was a member of the X-Men and the kind-hearted sympathizer to newcomer Kitty Pyrde. She appeared twice on X-Men. The first was an unspeaking cameo in "Longshot" where she was Longshot's make-up artist in Mojoworld. She next appeared in "Dazzled" sporting brunette hair and then-modern rock outfit, voiced by an unknown actress. Despite the physical change, this episode was a rather faithful recreation of her first comic book appearance. The last time was in the Wolverine and the X-Men episodes "X-Calibre", "Greetings From Genosha", and "Badlands". The first two featured Dazzler traveling to Genosha only to be captured by Spiral and the Reavers and rescued by Nightcrawler. When she makes it to Gensosha she puts on a concert, in her classic disco outfit, for the nation. In the final episode, the alternate version from the Days of Future Past future is shown to be killed along with everyone else in Genosha.
