35 Years of Raiders of the Lost Ark

Grab your fedora, put on your leather jacket, and brush up on your ancient civilizations. Today is the thirty-fifth anniversary of the release of Raiders of the Lost Ark. The classic Oscar-nominated film was the highest grossing film of 1981 and is still one of the highest grossing films ever. It spawned three sequels with a fourth on the way. The feature follows the adventures of Professor Indiana Jones as he travels the world to stop the Nazis from getting their hands on an ancient object that would make them invincible. The film features the talents of John Rhys-Davies as Sallah, Indiana's close friend and the best digger in Cairo who helps him discover the Ark of the Covenant as well as Frank Welker who did special vocal effects.
