The nominations for the 42nd Annual Annie Awards have been announced and Big Hero 6 got a total of seven nominations. With the addition of the short film Feast, Walt Disney Animation Studios got a total of eight nominations this year. Big Hero 6 has the third highest number of nominations this year following The Boxtrolls and How to Train Your Dragon 2.
- The film itself is nominated for Best Animated Feature.
- Michael Kaschalk, Peter DeMund, David Hutchins, Henrik Falt, and John Kosnik are nominated for Animated Effects in an Animated Production.
- Shiyoon Kim and Jin Kim are nominated for Character Design in an Animated Feature Production.
- Don Hall and Chris Williams are nominated for Directing in an Animated Feature Production.
- Marc E. Smith is nominated for Storyboarding in an Animated Feature Production.
- Robert L. Baird, Daniel Gerson, and Jordan Roberts are nominated for Writing in an Animated Feature Production.
- Tim Mertens is nominated for Editorial in an Animated Feature Production.
The winners will be announced during the ceremony on January 31st, 2015 in Royce Hall at the UCLA campus.
