Janet van Dyne, better known as the superheroine Wasp or Jan, is in a relationship with Henry Pym, better known as Ant-Man. She has the ability to shrink, grow wings, increase in size, and shoot beams of energy. Jan is impetuous and the youngest of the Avengers. She is the one who came up with the idea of naming the team the "Avengers."

Jan became a superhero alongside Hank Pym. She helped him fight crime on numerous instances. One day, Hank was attacked and she came to aid him, along with police. She checked in on him and discovered he was okay. She was asked by him to save the men that attacked him, that he shrinked, from being eaten by ants. Jan disliked the idea of "giant ants".

Janet actually married Hank. Though, because of his abusive attitude she divorced him.
